Music & Video Games
I love music and video games. These are the ones that take up most of my time.

Left 4 Dead 2
There is one game I will never get sick of playing online and that is Left 4 Dead 2. The L4D series is your typical zombie killing survival game. Don't get hit by zombies, fight your way through them, and get to the next safe room. With this game, you have four survivors, Coach, Rochelle, Nick, and (my favorite) Ellis.
When you play online, there are a couple game modes. Right now, I'll tell you about versus, which is the best one and most played.
In versus, you play the same as single player, but you have other players as your survivor counterparts. The object is to work together as a team to get to the next safe house without dying. The catch is, there is another team of four players, but they play as infected. In L4D there are special mutated zombies with their own abilities. There is a boomer who will emit boomer bile on you which limits the survivor's vision and attracts a horde of zombies. The spitter spits acid which will injure survivors the longer they stand in it. The smoker has a very long tongue that can grab a survivor and take them away from their team. The hunter probably does the most damage if a survivor wanders away from their team. The hunter pounces onto a survivor and "tears" and scratches at them. (This is really not a game meant for kids who are not at least a teenager age.) Finally, the Tank is a special mutated super zombie that can only be controlled a certain amount of time by someone on the infected side of the online play. The tank is huge and can hit very powerful hits and pick up pavement and throw it at the survivors.
The winner is determined by who has the points at the end of the game. Since the two teams take turns being the infected and survivors, the points add up by how fast they got through the level, how many hits the infected got on the survivors, and if any of the survivors were killed, points are deducted or just not earned.
I find this game to be one of the more fun games to play online because if you get a good team together and you're against
a good team, it adds for a challenge.

AM by Arctic Monkeys
Now that I have talked about a game that I have not finished, I'll move onto an album that I have not even fully listened to. Arctic Monkeys is my favorite band and I have all of their albums, excluding the most recent which is AM. When it comes to my favorite band releasing a new album, I am very picky in that, I will not download this album because I believe I owe it to the band and myself as a huge fan to own a hard copy of what I believe will be their newest masterpiece. It has almost been a full month since AM was released and I'm getting so impatient with none of the stores around my area selling the album. I would purchase the album online to have it delivered, but the Arctic Monkey's store has been out of the album since its release on September 10, 2013.I have heard four songs from the album, one is technically a B-side of a single, but it is still a part of the new AM era. I have loved all of these songs and have had them each on repeat for at least two days each when they were individually released. The first single from the album is called Do I Wanna Know? and is extremely catchy.
Dishonored
This is a game that I have enjoyed extensively, just in the little that I have played. Dishonored will probably be the only game I mention on this blog that I have not finished, but still deserves to be recognized as a favorite because of it's unique game play and overall story.
Dishonored follows a bodyguard by the name of Corvo Attano. Corvo is the protector of an empress and her daughter. When this empress is murdered, Corvo is framed for it and then put into prison. With the help of unknown people, Corvo escapes and begins a long journey to rescue the empress's daughter and avenge her death. This game is full of twists and turns, so talking any further about it could give away some critical details. I highly suggest this game because it combines magic, stealth, and unique assassin missions to create a game that is almost film-like.

Assassin's Creed II
Now I am going to change things up a little bit and start talking about video games that I really enjoy playing in my free time. The game I would like to mention first is Assassin's Creed II. This game franchise is one of my absolute favorites and I own all of them. I believe that other than the third game whose protagonist was Connor Kenway, my favorite assassin was Ezio. Ezio made his first appearance in the second Assassin's Creed game and quickly became my favorite just because of his demeanor and reason for becoming an assassin.
The reason he became an assassin was to avenge the death of his father and two brothers. This took Ezio on a journey all the way to a conspiracy that involved the Pope.
The Assassin Creed games are perfect for a gamer who enjoys single player games with a very in-depth story line

Man on the Moon: End of Day by Kid Cudi
I am not one who is into rap/hip-hop music but when I first heard Kid Cudi, I fell in love. The song that started the love was Day 'n' Night, which I heard on a Top 20 satellite radio station. I loved the unique beats and lyrics that Cudi expressed in his music. Although, his first album was pretty much all about drugs and how it made him feel, the way that Cudi described these feelings made him an interesting lyricist.Kid Cudi has released three studio albums under the Cudi name: Man on the Moon: End of Day, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, and Indicud. I like all of these albums but the first is definitely my favorite.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
I am going to be completely honest and say that in the fourth grade in 2004, I had no idea what kind of music was my absolute favorite. I had a tendency to listen to what was playing in the car on the way to school which was mainly the hard rock that plays on 98Rock. On occasion though, mom would switch to 98.5KTK to reminisce on the music of her time I guess.
One day, I remember sweeping the floor at my house while my parents were out at dinner. I had recently discovered the Music Choice channels on our cable and was listening to the Hot Tracks channel. One song came on and I instantly liked it. It had a different feeling to it than my usually headbanging or really depressing rock music. It had a synth sound that was easy to dance to and lyrics that made absolutely no sense to a fourth grade level me. That song was "Somebody Told Me" by a new band called The Killers. I danced to it like a maniac with broom in hand. Every time it came on, the volume would go up.
Time went by though and I forgot about that catchy tune. Riding in the car one day, mom turned on the radio and was sick of the usual 98Rock and changed to the channel alternative of 98.5. It was the "current" hour, so all of the new music was playing. That's the first time I heard "Mr. Brightside" and fell in love all over again.
I know that was a pretty long story about how I heard two songs from the same band, but those two songs are what changed my music preference for probably what will be forever. When I got The Killers's debut album, "Hot Fuss," I could not stop listening to it. It was perfect, fresh, and new.
To this very day, you will find "Hot Fuss" in the CD visor holder in my car and on my phone. Just this past two days I have been on a kick and listening to the album on repeat and jamming in my car on the way to school. "Hot Fuss" is one of those timeless albums that I recommend everyone to listen to, no matter what your music taste.
